ESET has recently launched the Beta version of its new Parental Control app for Android. To thank everyone who participated in the Beta testing, ESET is offering free access to the app's security features such as Web Guard and Time Management for six months.

According to Ofcom's Report on Online Safety Measures, published in January 2015, there has been a significant increase in access, ownership and use of tablet computers by children of all ages since 2013.
Many older children own smartphones (20% of smartphones in the 8-11 age group and 65% in the 12-15 age group), while for those aged 12-15, it is cited as the device they would miss the most. ESET’s goal is to ensure that children of all ages can access the internet more safely, without worrying about online threats such as malicious ads, phishing and malware.
“The ESET Parental Control app for Android is designed to give parents the peace of mind that their children are safe on their smart devices by providing them with protection, convenience, and performance through a range of free and premium features,” notes Branislav Orlik, Product Manager at ESET. “Our next goal is to protect families against online threats so they can enjoy the wealth of information and entertainment available online.”
ESET Parental Control for Android is a comprehensive and user-friendly protection system that helps parents build a respectful relationship with their children who use smartphones or tablets.
Designed to help parents protect their children from online dangers and inappropriate websites, the application features a range of safety features combined with an easy-to-use interface.
Features include:
· Application Guard: blocks inappropriate content by default according to the child's age.
· Time Management: allows parents to limit the time the child spends on games and other applications, even when the child is away from home.
· Web Guard: filters inappropriate websites according to the child's age.
· Child Locator: allows parents to track their child's location at any time.
"BETA testing is very important to us," continues Orlik. "We have worked very hard to make the ESET Parental Control app for Android users equally friendly, intuitive and useful for both children and parents. However, nothing compares to the feedback from parents and children themselves around the world. That is why we have decided to offer the premium features to all families who will participate in the BETA testing for free without any commitment for a full six months."
