Athens, July 1, 2015 – PRESS RELEASE – The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate (CDP), through the “CYBER ALERT” procedure, with immediate and coordinated actions, effectively contributedto another case of disappearance of minors, with a happy outcome.

The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, through the innovative online process "CYBER ALERT", with immediate and coordinated actions, effectively contributed to another case of disappearance of minors, with a happy outcome.
Specifically, the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate (DIE) was informed by the Attica Police Department that (2) underage Greek siblings – a boy aged (8) and a girl aged (12) – according to their relatives, secretly left their home and did not return.
Immediately, executives of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate (DIE) conducted a thorough and in-depth digital - online investigation of the data andother digital data used by minors to access the internet, with the aim of identifying them in a timely manner.
From the analysis of electronic traces and the digital and police investigation, the points of connection in "profiles" used by the minors on social media were identified, resulting in the geographical identification of the area where they were moving.
The information was provided to the relevant Police Department and the police forces located the minors and ensured their physical integrity.
