3D Printing: Robot prints steel bridge in a vacuum!

From life-saving implants to pop art objects, 3D printing is the future. But it could do even more, like 3D printing a steel bridge literally in midair.
MX3D, a research company, will use 3D printing robots to create a pedestrian bridge over one of Amsterdam's canals.
The flexible machine with six robotic arms will start building from one side of the canal until it reaches the other end. The robot will even print its own support that will allow it to operate autonomously. The location of the bridge will be announced soon and construction is set to begin in 2017.
