The pretrial detention of the 22-year-old, called the "dragon" of Facebook, who is accused of a child pornography case, was decided by the Council of Misdemeanor Courts, which resolved the disagreement that had arisen over his criminal treatment between the investigator and the prosecutor.
The accused was arrested approximately two weeks ago following an investigation by the Cybercrime Unit. He was charged with violating the provisions of Articles 348A of the Criminal Code "Pornography of Minors", 348C of the Criminal Code "Pornographic Representations of Minors", acts committed via the Internet.
After the 22-year-old's plea , the investigator and prosecutor disagreed regarding his further criminal treatment, resulting in the defendant being kept under house arrest in his home located in the Northern Suburbs of Athens .
The prosecutor was of the opinion that the defendant should be remanded in custody for his actions, while the investigating judge was of the opinion that he should be placed under house arrest.
According to information, the investigator, based on the defendant's statement, formed the opinion that the 22-year-old had not realized that his victims were minors. On the contrary, the prosecutor was convinced that he had knowledge and therefore requested his pretrial detention.
He is the son of a wealthy family in Athens, which deals in the trade of sporting goods, according to the authorities, through his Facebook he created pornographic videos with “protagonists” underage girls. His method was simple. First, he would “friend” the underage girls aged 13 to 15 and then steal the photos that they had “uploaded” to their profiles.
Then, having this material in his hands and editing the photo-video, the accused placed the faces of the underage girls on those of the porn stars, thus creating videos of child pornography. He then contacted his victims and blackmailed them by saying that he would leak the specific material to their family and friends. According to the authorities, he convinced the underage girls to perform lewd acts with sex toys online and he recorded everything.
