Venom Bug: Allows a hacker to control the entire Data center: A new bug has been revealed on the Internet, Venom, which targets data centers, with experts warning that we are dealing with something worse than HeartBleed.

VENOM allows a hacker to gain control of the internal processes of a data center, with incalculable consequences for all digital data that moves through it, such as passwords and other information.

The bug, according to Ars Technica, can exploit the Xen, KVM, QEMU virtual machine platforms and their applications, giving hackers the ability to exploit their protected environment and gain full control of the operating system that hosts these virtual platforms.

The interesting thing is that the VENOM bug has been around since 2004, so it's not something new, but now more information has been revealed about it.

The good thing is that the appropriate patches have already been made available to fix all the security vulnerabilities that have been identified.

VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Bochs hypervisors are not affected by the vulnerability ,according to ZDNet, but all versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which includes QEMU, are at risk.
