In any case, the agreement between the two companies that makes Google the default search engine in Apple's Safari is set to expire soon.

The question remains whether a full-fledged search engine from APPLE will make its appearance with the next version of iOS or OS X. The answer is probably “no,” but this possibility leaves open the window for creating a new field in which the two companies could compete – something they seem to enjoy.
