Thousands of British Airways customer accounts hacked

British Airways

British Airways said tens of thousands of customer accounts were hacked and the company was forced to freeze them until the problem was resolved.

The announcement from British Airways was made yesterday and, as Reuters , there was no leak of passengers' personal information.

According to the company's announcement, the restoration of the normal operation of its website will begin today.

Details released by the company state that “the hackers carried out their attack through an “automated process,” using information they found elsewhere on the Internet.

The company assures that the hackers did not gain access to data such as credit card numbers and the flight history of the company's frequent flyers.
