Users will be able to immediately file a complaint with the social network. After reviewing the complaint, receiving a clear statement that the post features the user who filed the complaint and that the publication was made without their consent, the service will hide the content in question from public view and lock the account of the user who violates the new rule - however, they will have the opportunity to refute the claim. Before using the service again, these users will be asked to delete the offensive content. Those who publish such content with the intention of offending will be banned from the service.
The company says it is ready to review all complaints “within a reasonable time.” However, Twitter’s chief executive has acknowledged that there is a significant problem with the service – trolls. “The blame is mine,” he allegedly wrote in an internal memo obtained by The Verge, “and I will allocate all necessary resources to ensure that the team that will resolve the problem works effectively,” he wrote in a message to company employees in February.
