From time to time, many video games have been released on the market with… an increased dose of violence. But all of them are framed by a scenario, which partly justifies the harsh images they present. “Hatred” is something different. A video game that focuses on violence and… hatred.
The protagonist of the game, which is set to be released in 2015, is a lonely misanthrope dressed in black, whose goal is to kill as many people as he can. He does not fight for his ideology, nor does he serve specific moral values. The "motto" of the game is that "there is no reason to save any life.".
Using machine guns, explosives and knives, he neutralizes everything in front of him. The masked "avenger" of humanity roams the streets, schools and other public buildings, killing innocent citizens and police officers. The main goal of the game is to fully capture the concept of hatred and violence.
The game's description makes it clear: "It's my time to kill as many as I can and then die. The useless existence of humanity makes me feel sick and tired. All that matters is my gun and violence.".
The game, created by Polish company Destructive Creations, was first released on Steam, but was soon banned due to harsh reviews. However, within a few months of its release, it managed to gather 14,000 fans, who insisted on its re-release. While the video game remained banned, another 27,000 people said they liked “Hatred” and that they would like it to be re-released.
The decision has been made and the most… controversial video game in gaming history will be back in stock next year. With the announcement that “Hatred” will be back on store shelves, the managers of Destructive Creations stated: “This is the best proof that there are still loyal fans of the game we created. That is why Hatred will be re-released. We continue to strive to offer exciting and challenging gaming moments. After trying it, players will see if they are able to play this particular game, which is actually just fun.”.
