Friend Inspector is a pretty clever game that tries to introduce Facebook users to privacy loopholes. Or, in other words, the app that doesn't want you to like it!
This is a fairly innovative game-application that aims to show you what you don't know about the privacy of your data on the leading – in terms of traffic – social networking website, Facebook.
The product of scientific research by students at the University of Regensburg, Friend Inspector comes to help us optimize our privacy on Facebook but also to raise awareness of similar issues for all social networks on the world wide web.
There are many users who are either unaware or not properly informed about the privacy settings they have set for managing the information they upload to their profile. Of course, there is also a portion of users who simply ignore the existence of privacy settings, without caring whether any of their personal data will appear on their public or private profile.
The Friend Inspector app selectively collects a sample of our public profile, our friends list, our email address, our custom friend lists, updates, status updates, events, groups, and photos, with the aim of discovering what we thought was private is not, and vice versa.
Finally, the application asks us if we are satisfied not to like!
A test will convince you!
