The issue of sexual harassment of children in Cyprus via the internet is evolving into a new, modern scourge . An extremely serious issue that should concern all those involved, since according to recent data provided to the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament, 13.6% of children in Cyprus fall victim to cyberbullying, while 8.3% are bullies themselves and 8% are addicted to the internet .
Also particularly worrying is the fact that there have been cases of children in Cypruswho were socially isolated due to internet addiction and had to be hospitalized at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, by special court order, with the aim of detoxifying them from the internet.
