A 61-year-old man is accused of seeking out underage boys on Facebook, whom he encouraged to have sexual relations with him.
The accused was arrested by police officers from the minor protection department of the Thessaloniki Police, while a case was filed against him for repeated sexual assault and seduction of minors.
As the investigation revealed, the arrested person had allegedly created a profile on Facebook and was sending friend requests to underage boys with the aim of meeting them.
In surprise searches carried out at his homes in Drama and Thessaloniki, as well as in his car, two computers and a mobile phone were seized, which will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece.
The arrested person, who is allegedly the head of a research center owned by the State, is being taken to the prosecutor of the Thessaloniki Criminal Courts.
