80% of Flappy Bird clones contain dangerous malware

The addictive game Flappy Bird, after its great success, was withdrawn from the Play Store and iTunes, however, many clones immediately appeared.

According to security company and Intel subsidiary McAfee , 80% of Flappy Bird clones are malware applications and should be avoided  .

This malware, which is installed on the mobile phone through the game, can make calls, send and receive unwanted SMS and reveal the location of the mobile phone,

Furthermore, in some cases, they can extract critical informationfrom the owner (passwords, credit card numbers) and even root the device.

Android device users are at greater risk , but it is possible that jailbroken iOS device owners have also been affected .
