It is the biggest "collapse" of the website since its inception, as it lasted about 20 minutes - Users from Greece and other countries worldwide could not "enter" their profiles
Facebook faced problems worldwide on Thursday morning as the page "fell" as it is commonly said in Internet parlance.
Those trying to access their profile saw the message “Sorry, something went wrong”.
In fact, as the "rival awe", Twitter, was operating normally, the hashtag #Facebookdown has already become a trend, with problems appearing from users not only in Greece, but in many countries around the world, from England to India.
Confirming once again the power of both the Internet and this particular website with its hundreds of thousands of users around the world, all major international media outlets quickly covered the issue.
This is the first time in the history of the website that it has faced such a major "crash", according to the Guardian newspaper. The "down" lasted more than twenty minutes, while just before 11:30 in the morning it began to recover, although still not for everyone.
Facebook's crash wasn't just about the website, as hundreds of thousands of other websites around the world also saw their traffic drop during the 20-minute period in question. The Guardian's graph showing how its website performed during that time is particularly telling.
Officially, however, there is no official explanation from Facebook for the "fall", although we all remember the characteristic "motto" of its founder Mark Zuckerberg that "Facebook never falls"..
