The latest beta version of Chrome will be released with a complete solution for performing voice searches, while this feature is expected to be rolled out to the stable version of the browser soon.
“With the latest beta version of Chrome, you can search Google – without typing, clicking, or using your hands. Just open a new tab or visit Google.com with Chrome, say ‘Ok Google,’ then start dictating your search,” the company notes.
Over the next few days, Chrome users who have Google set to US English will be able to perform voice searches, create timers and reminders, and more… with a simple “Ok Google.”.
Until now, this feature was possible by installing a Chrome extension or by pressing the microphone button in the search bar, but it was not available in the browser by default.
Now, as the company prepares to gradually expand the feature, it encourages users to activate it and take advantage of the advantages of voice search.
All you need to do is go to Google.com and tap the microphone button. A card will appear with the option to "Enable 'Ok Google'," and that's all you need to do to enable the new feature.
