Find out who is... monitoring your VAT number

afm

This is a service. The Ministry of Finance and Taxis allow you to not only learn who a tax registration number corresponds to, but also to be informed about who is conducting research on your own Tax Identification Number. How can you receive the relevant information? Simply by registering for the new service that Taxis launched a few hours ago

The data from the electronic tax registry database that can be retrieved by the service are:

· Tax ID.

· Tax Code and Description

· Indication of whether it is a Natural or Non-Natural Person

· Indication whether the VAT number is active or inactive

· Indication of whether the person is a professional, non-professional or former professional

· Brand name

· Business title

· Description of the form of Non-Natural Person

· Street, number, postal code and business area

· Start date and stop date

· Business activities.

For each activity the following are displayed:

· a. Activity code and description

· b. Type of activity (main, secondary, other, auxiliary) To access the new service, the Taxis access codes will not be sufficient but new codes must be used.

Essentially, those interested should follow the following steps:

· Registration for the service using TAXISnet access codes. When registering for the service, a natural or legal person can authorize a third party to process service calls. Registration can be done through the following address: https://www1.gsis.gr/webtax/wspublicreg · Obtaining special access codes (username / password) specifically for this service. In order to obtain these special access codes, the interested party must connect to the specially designed application "Special Code Management" through the TAXISnet access codes. The use of a special "client" application to call the service. For security reasons, restrictions have been placed on the number of searches. Thus, natural persons will be able to make up to 1000 searches and for all companies to 10,000 except for SAs which can proceed to 20,000 searches. The restriction – which can be amended in the future by a relevant decision of the Secretary General of Revenue – was introduced for security reasons. The unlimited number of searches was the "backdoor" through which the professional data of thousands of professionals was stolen last time.
