Japanese company Fujitsu announced that it has developed technology capable of improving data transfer speeds by up to ten times. The new technology uses techniques to eliminate redundant information and compress data to reduce the size of information.
In this way, faster transmission is achieved. In practice, priority is given to data that appears more frequently within a network. Thus, on the one hand, a reduced data size is transferred and on the other hand, the appearance of duplicate files is prevented at a rate of up to 80%.
Regarding the data compression method, the process involves searching for repeating patterns with the aim of faster compression of the transferred files.
More details about the technology are expected to be announced on May 15 and 16 in Tokyo, at a relevant Fujitsu forum.
As announced, the commercial availability of the technology is planned for 2014.
