South Korean police announced on Tuesday that they had arrested a man suspected of abandoning his child who died of starvation while spending days playing video games.
The new case is expected to fuel a debate in South Korea about video game addiction, as parliament is considering a bill that would classify the activity as an addictive activity, along with drugs, alcohol and gambling.
The player, 22-year-old Chung as police call him, was arrested yesterday after the decomposing body of his two-year-old son was found in a garbage bag near the southeastern city of Daegu.
