You may have charged your smart device just a few hours ago. But that doesn't stop it from abandoning you in the middle of the day. New generation mobile phones, no matter how "smart" they are, run so many different applications that they are unable to support them for long periods of time. For this reason, one should behave... friendly towards their device, if they don't want to charge it again and again.

The main source of… battery drain is of course the constant connection of the mobile to the internet. Even someone who wants to be constantly connected, however, can find the… secret recipe so that their mobile can last throughout the day. Check out the five ways in which you can significantly increase the life of the battery.

1. Turn off social media location services

If you see that your mobile phone is starting to… run out of power, then a good start for saving battery is to disable Location Services from each social media. With them open, each application individually, constantly searches for your location. Of course, this “eats” a lot of battery, noticeably reducing the endurance of the mobile phone. If we assume that you will not surf on Facebook or Twitter, wasting the little battery that is left, then you can disable them entirely. In fact, in some cases, the battery of some mobile phones not only lasts longer, but its “life” indicator even increases.

2. Close apps you won't need again

As long as an app remains open, even if you are not using it, it continues to drain your phone's battery. When dozens of open apps accumulate, the energy they require in total can significantly reduce the lifespan of any smartphone. It may be convenient to have every app on your phone open at all times, but this tactic also has its drawbacks.

3. Don't keep opening and closing apps

If you know that you will not use an application again, then it would be a good idea, as we mentioned above, to close it. However, if you intend to open and close it at regular intervals, it is better to leave it permanently open. Each application takes up a certain amount of space in the mobile's RAM. When it closes, the smartphone's cache deletes its content, while when it is reopened, it saves it from the beginning. This entire process wastes much more energy than leaving the application open and inactive.

4. Turn off notifications you don't need

The most typical example is the constant connection to your personal e-mail. Every message that enters your inbox “eats” a little of your phone’s battery. However, if you want to be constantly informed, then you can disable notifications from other applications. The messages from applications that come every now and then and confuse you because you think it is a… normal message, can disappear and give way to a valuable percentage of battery.

5. Get the battery percentage

Ultimately, it's what you worry about the most. But besides that, it also contributes to the rapid "absorption" of the battery. So what's the point of having it turned on? With it turned off, you can see... approximately how much battery you have left and at the same time make sure it lasts longer.
