Firefox Metro for Windows 8 release canceled due to low interest

ffoxmetroMozilla has officially announced that it has stopped development of the Metro of Firefox, just days before its official release for Windows 8.

The company announced that the company has neither the resources nor the strength of competitors and that it must make its own choices.

The “Metro” project was not a top priority, unlike the Windows, Mac, Linux , and Android versions of Firefox.

The main reason that led Mozilla to this decision was that the Metro version of the popular browser was not receiving the attention and acceptance of users.

Although millions of people use preview and beta versions of Firefox, Metro has never managed to have more than 1,000 daily active users

Metro was released for Windows 8 in a preview version in October 2012, but its official release had been postponed three times since then, signaling that it was a project that would not have the success of its predecessors.
