Glenn Greenwald's new revelation has unmasked yet another secret surveillance operation conducted by the US intelligence agency, the NSA, the program dubbed "TURBINE," according to classified files leaked by Edward Snowden.
Secret documents revealed by The Intercept show that the NSA and its British counterpart GCHQ have distributed a malicious surveillance software for computers and network devices. The “implants”, capable of spamming millions of pieces of sophisticated malware at the same time, have been used successively on more than 50,000 Vulnerable Computers (CNEs) around the world, with the number expected to reach 85,000 by the end of 2013.
