A simple online friendship ended up forever scarring a 21-year-old student studying in Thessaloniki, at least according to what she herself claims.
The girl had been talking frequently on Facebook with a young man she didn't know. One thing led to another, and eventually the student was convinced to meet the man who had caught her interest. To convince her, the young man even suggested bringing a couple of his friends with him so they wouldn't be alone.
So they set up a date at her house. This mistake proved fatal for the 21-year-old who didn't choose a coffee shop or some other outdoor location.
The group arrived at the student's house and a short time later they started drinking. Apparently the plan was well-organized from the beginning. They put some substance in the girl's drink, who began to lose consciousness. Shortly before she fainted, she remembers that another man entered her house.
Then, the 3 men raped the 21-year-old while their girlfriend was also present in the apartment.
After satisfying their sick appetites, they left the house. As soon as the girl came to her senses, she notified the police and after investigations, all 3 rapists and the girl were arrested. Two of those arrested are of Albanian origin while one young man and the girl are Greek.
However, the coroner found no traces of rape and all possibilities of this strange case are being examined
According to the APE, as it became known, the perpetrators allegedly administered mephedrone, a synthetic stimulant, to the young woman, causing her to lose consciousness. This substance is known as “meow-meow” and is mainly distributed via the internet, while it is causing havoc in nightclubs in Europe and the US.
