DailyMotion continues to be used to distribute Fake AV

hqdefault

On January 7, Invincea researchers disclosed that the popular video-sharing website DailyMotion is being used to distribute fake antivirus programs, with the help of specially crafted ads.

The researchers informed the company about the issue, which a month later has not confirmed that it has received the initial report, while the problem remains.

According to experts, Dailymotion users are redirected through the service to a specially crafted website used to distribute Fake AV. Once the malware is installed on victims' computers, it informs them that they have been infected with malware and asks them to pay a certain amount of money to get rid of it.
