Article 11 of the relevant draft law presents the "Greek version" of the... FBI. The Organized Crime and Counterterrorism Service will operate at the level of a General Directorate, will be subordinate to the Hellenic Police Headquarters and will be controlled by the General Inspector of Security.
Its mission will be to prevent and suppress extremely serious criminal offenses, especially offenses that have the characteristics of organized crime, as well as to deal with specific violent crimes and especially terrorist and extremist criminal acts, "which are directed against the security of the state and the democratic system.".
The Economic Police and Cybercrime Prosecution Service, as well as the Criminal Investigations Directorate, will also be supervised by the General Inspector of Security.

Article 14 describes the operation of the "Information Directorate", which reports directly to the Chief of the Hellenic Police, and has the mission of gathering information through the regional police services, evaluating, classifying, analyzing and making available processed or unprocessed information to combat all forms of crime. This service will maintain and update the "special databases" in which the information material will be registered and stored.

Article 9 concerns the operation of the Unified Coordination Center for Operations and Crisis Management, which, among other things, functions as an advisory body to the Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection in cases of “generalized internal security crises at the national level”.
