The perpetrators created a Facebook profile and began uploading the controversial photos – They were asking for 500 euros to not talk to his wife…
In this case, three people (a 34-year-old man and two women, 33 and 30 years old), were arrested yesterday (27.01.2014) in the afternoon for online extortion.
Specifically, according to a complaint by a 53-year-old man, the 34-year-old and 33-year-old had been blackmailing him for the past month to hand over the sum of 500 euros to them, in order not to post personal photos of him on Facebook.
Subsequently, a police operation was organized and the 34-year-old was arrested when he arrived at a pre-arranged meeting with the 53-year-old to receive the sum of 300 euros. Subsequently, the two aforementioned women were located and arrested.
As emerged from the police investigation, the 30-year-old created and managed a fake Facebook profile for personal reasons, posting personal photos of herself with the 53-year-old, while she had the other two perpetrators blackmail him and ask him for 500 euros so that they would not inform his wife.
Investigations into the case are continuing, while those arrested are expected to be brought before the Serres Criminal Court Prosecutor.
