The NSA and other agencies monitored users of popular mobile phone apps such as Angry Birds.

Through applications that have security gaps, the NSA could and did have access to all of the user's data and activity, such as phone calls and messages, and even when they upload photos to Facebook.
For its part, Rovio, the company that created the popular Angry Birds game, stated that it had no idea that the NSA was using their app to monitor users, while for its part, the NSA announced that it was using this technique to monitor foreign services and important targets.
