Mac users are aware of the cleaning capabilities and while some solutions are better than others, most believe that these applications are useless, if not harmful to the Mac.
A post titled “should I buy clean my mac 2 or is there another app I should use?” was published on April 8, 2013 on Apple Support Communities and now has over 25K views, with only 10 replies.
Most of the commenters seem to be users who are well-informed about the risks involved with clearing services. Whether you believe what these users say or not, Apple has some advice.
“The best way to keep Mac running in top condition is to update your system software regularly, back up your system, and perform some regular maintenance.”
These include archiving large files (and files you don't use very often), deleting unnecessary files, emptying the trash, etc. Apple says that all it takes is backups and a little common sense and you'll be fine. And everyone else seems to agree. What's your opinion on this?
