If you're a user of Google's social network, there's no need to dig through your photos and videos to find snapshots from 2013. Google+ does it for you, through its Auto Awesome feature.
Users who uploaded photos and videos throughout the year will be rewarded with a short slideshow made up of their photos and videos on Google+. The videos are about a minute long and were sent to users last week.
Videos can be shared publicly on Google+ or kept private.
This is the first year that Google+ has used the Auto Awesome feature to create videos, and a spokesperson declined to say how many users will receive the videos. Only “active Google Photos” users with “enough content” on their profiles during the year will receive videos.
Google+ videos are similar to Facebook's review feature. This was the second year that Facebook automatically pulled the top 20 posts and moments from users' lives into a shareable timeline.
