AOL, which has acquired the popular Winamp (originally developed by Nullsoft), announced the end of support for the historic media player a few weeks ago.
However, TechCrunch reports that Radionomy, a free platform with more than 6,000 radio stations, is interested in acquiring the application and related services and has already moved forward with an acquisition agreement with AOL.
Neither of the two companies has made any statements so far, but according to reliable information the deal is expected to be completed within the week.
Earlier reports suggested that Microsoft was interested in acquiring the app, but Radionomy was the one that ultimately bought Winamp and Shoutcast Music Services.
