The hacking group DERP has struck again with new DDoS attacks, this time targeting PlayStation Network servers (albeit for a limited time), as well as Sony Online Entertainment multiplayer games, such as Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online.
The hacking group made its appearance online shortly before the end of 2013, carrying out attacks on popular online gaming websites, such as League of Legends, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and many other titles.
After a few days of inactivity, the group returned to action and began targeting Planetside 2. Unfortunately, Sony was using the same servers for other games like DC Universe Online, Free Realms, and Everquest. Therefore, those games were also affected by the attack.
However, it is still unclear why DERP is committing these attacks.
