The privacy of millions of Chinese hotel guests was put at risk when hackers leaked their personal data online.
The self-proclaimed “harbors of evil goods” gained access to the data by exploiting a security flaw in software used by some of the most popular hotel chains in the country.
According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the personal information – including booking details, names, phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses – is estimated to belong to 20 million people.
