Arbor has announced the launch of its new Cloud DDoS Protection solution, which provides on-premise and in-cloud DDoS protection for ISPs and enterprise networks. The solution provides service providers with a comprehensive white label platform that enables them to meet market demands by introducing, extending and enhancing managed DDoS services in the cloud, while providing businesses with integrated, on-premise and in-cloud DDoS protection.
DDoS attacks pose a serious threat to the availability of corporate networks as in their modern form, they come in the form of a series of attacks that target not only the bandwidth of the connection but also numerous devices that make up the security infrastructure, such as firewalls/IPS devices, as well as a multitude of applications on which the business relies such as HTTP, HTTPS, VoIP, DNS and SMTP. These attacks on the infrastructure and at the application level are of limited volume, designed to avoid classic perimeter protection systems, and in fact often target them. An appropriate defense implementation consists of a combination of protection in the cloud against quantitative attacks, and locally (on premise) against attacks that target applications and the infrastructure of a business.
Arbor Cloud DDoS Protection helps protect corporate networks from a wide range of DDoS attacks, including volumetric attacks, application layer, state-exhaustion, (e.g. targeting firewalls/IPS), combinatorial and multi-vector DDoS attacks. The ease of use of the on-premise Pravail Availability Protection System (Pravail APS) solution allows the enterprise IT staff to maintain control of attack mitigation and provides the ability to be informed immediately, through Arbor Cloud, when attacks become too large to be dealt with by on-premise systems.
