The first Greek stamp with a two-dimensional barcode technology (QRC) is in circulation
The Hellenic Post Office (ELTA) is introducing the physical stamp into the digital age, today releasing the new memorable series of stamps, entitled "From physical to digital post", which depicts, for the first time on a Greek stamp, a two-dimensional technology barcode (QRC).
By scanning the 0.72 euro stamp, its holder connects to the ELTA corporate site and has on their mobile phone all the information about the services provided by Hellenic Post, store addresses, opening hours and the provision of e-shop services.
"Taking a leading role, in a competitive environment, in a market that is essentially liberalized and under severe economic pressure, Hellenic Post chooses to invest in the future, in new generation technological infrastructure, services and equipment, with the aim of transitioning mail to the next day. Digital mail is now an imperative need and the Greek postal company could not help but integrate modern technological requirements, with the aim of achieving competitiveness and the maximum possible efficiency of services," the ELTA management states in a relevant announcement.
