The fake Match.com users

matchIn its nearly twenty years of existence on the Internet, Match.com has been under fire many times, probably because its subject matter, namely dating, remains controversial and susceptible to many misunderstandings, well-intentioned and not. The most recent one, which has been ongoing in recent days, claims that the well-known dating site with a presence in 25 countries has used information from real people who are not even members to create fake accounts.

What's more interesting is that Match.com (and more specifically, the IAC/InterActive that owns it) appears to have "colluded" with fraudsters from African countries and Russia who created the fake accounts - equally scandalous is the detail that the main plaintiff, a Florida model named Juliana Avalos who is suing IAC/InterActive for $1.5 billion, has been involved in similar cases in the past. Or at least, photos of her have been involved.
