While 14 people allegedly belonging to the hacktivist group RedHack were on trial at the Ankara Courthouse, the group's hackers were busy hacking the official website of Turkey's Justice and Development Party (APK).
Immediately after the website akparti.org.tr was compromised, hackers posted a message purportedly written by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to the message published by RedHack, Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized and admitted that those arrested were innocent. He also called the operation against the hacktivist group a “parody.”
The website was of course immediately restored by its administrators. Members of the RedHack group say that the people arrested by the Turkish police do not belong to their group. They are simply people who demonstrated against the government in Gezi Square.
