Recently, it was announced that Apple CEO Tim Cookis stepping down, while the company also promoted Johny Srouji. Effective today, Srouji will take on the role of Apple's head of hardware, taking on a broader role overseeing Hardware Engineering.

In a press release, Apple explains that John Ternus was the last person to oversee the Hardware Engineering team in his role as Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering. Srouji, on the other hand, served as Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies.
Ternus is now the incoming CEO of Apple and is expected to take over from current CEO Tim Cook on September 1.
With this change, Srouji will have an expanded role as Apple's head of hardware, overseeing both Hardware Engineering and technologies.

Srouji joined Apple in 2008, having previously worked in processor development and design at both Intel and IBM.

Finally, Tom Marieb, Apple's current Vice President of Product Integrity, will become Apple's head of Hardware Engineering. He will report to Ternus.
