Apple today updated the Apple Sports app for iPhone, adding more content for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Soccer fans can now view full tournament lineups and follow their favorite national teams within the app. This is the first World Cup to feature 48 teams, moving away from the traditional 32-team format.

By following teams, Apple Sports users can get real-time updates on scores and stats, and there's support for Live Activities to follow the games. Apple says it's easier than ever for fans to stay up to date with the tournament action when it kicks off on June 11.

The Apple Sports app allows users to follow their favorite teams, tournaments and leagues, with tools to navigate between scores and upcoming matches, view details by phase and lineup, and access the Apple TV app to watch live events.

Apple Sports includes support for more than 30 top soccer leagues and tournaments in North America, Latin America and Europe. The Apple Sports app is free to download from the App Store.
