Meta is releasing yet another software update for its Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses, this time with improvements for ski sports as well as translation, and a voice command experience that's very similar to Gemini Live.

The v23 update for the smart Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses brings several significant improvements. A major change is the enhancements for snow sports, including integration with a wearable Garmin, automatic captures and real-time information about the conditions of the ski resort. Most features require integration with Garmin and Meta warns that battery life may be reduced in low temperatures.
For recordings, automatic download is activated during “key moments such as descents and ascents,” and the footage can include an overlay with “ski stats (speed, altitude, number of runs)” if connected to a Garmin wearable.
Meta AI can now handle “more natural” conversations, including the ability to interrupt, which resembles Gemini Live. Live translation on Meta glasses now includes Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Swedish and Finnish in early access.

Users can track their adventures in snowboarding and skiing with real-time statistics directly on their AI glasses. When connected to a compatible Garmin device, users can monitor their performance, automatically record moments, and receive real-time information about the ski resort conditions, all hands-free.
For those in the early access program, live translation is available in even more languages: Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Swedish and Finnish, with additional languages coming. These new languages do not require a language pack download. Users can select their preferred languages and start their session to hear translations in real time.

Users can now interact more naturally with Meta AI by saying “Hey Meta” to start a conversation. They can ask questions, pause at any time, or continue with related questions without having to repeat “Hey Meta” each time. This feature is available on Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN glasses in the U.S. and Canada.
