
Facebook Inc.'s revenue rose 60% to $2.016 billion in the third quarter, exceeding analysts' forecasts, whose average was $1.911 billion.
The world's largest social network announced that it had net profits of $425 million (17 cents per share) in the quarter that ended on September 30.
Mobile advertising revenue (smartphones, tablets) accounted for 49% of total advertising revenue in the third quarter ($988 million). A year ago, the corresponding amount was $150 million, when the popular social network was beginning its development in this sector.
