Apple's long-awaited smart home automation hub device, known as the 'HomePad', is expected to be released in the fall of 2026, according to the leaker and prototype collector known as 'Kosutami'.

In a new post on X, Kosutami reported that the device, which has acquired the nickname ‘HomePad’, is now expected to reach autumn 2026. Autumn runs from September to December and usually coincides with Apple’s busiest release period of the year.
Apple is said to have been working on the device for several years, aiming to serve as a central control hub for smart home products, listening to music and podcasts, making video calls, and retrieving information such as weather and calendar events.

The device is expected to have a 7‑inch square‑shaped screen and a front camera. There may be two versions, one designed for wall mounting and the other having a speaker base that is said to resemble the HomePod mini and can be placed on a desk or countertop.
The integrated sensors will be able to detect when someone is near the home automation hub and the content displayed will change depending on who is present. It will rely heavily on Siri's voice commands and Siri may even have a new personalized appearance in the hub, with a design described as a version of the Mac Finder icon.

Apple could price the home automation hub at around $350. The device was initially rumored to be released in early 2025, but due to delays with Apple Intelligence, the apparent release date was moved to early 2026 and now to the fall. The rumored launch timing means that the HomePad could arrive together with products such as the iPhone 18 Pro in September or the redesigned MacBook Pro models in October.
