Apple's new Studio Display XDR is designed for all kinds of professional work and is uniquely tailored for use in the medical field .
Studio Display XDR supports presets medical imaging DICOM and features a Medical Imaging Calibrator, so it can be used for diagnostic radiology. Radiologists will be able to view images directly on the Studio Display XDR, without the need for a specialized medical imaging monitor.

There is a switch display mode to switch from normal viewing mode to radiology viewing mode. The Studio Display XDR starts at $3,299, making it more affordable than many specialized medical imaging displays.
Apple says the Medical Imaging Calibrator, which it created for the Studio Display XDR, is awaiting FDA approval and will soon be available in the United States.

According to Apple, its goal with this new functionality is to continue improving the technology available to the medical community to enhance patient care.
The Studio Display XDR also features a mini-LED with 2,304 local dimming zones, HDR brightness up to 2000 nits, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and advanced color accuracy.

Pre -orders for the Studio Display XDR begin today, March 4, with release following on March 11.
