BBM: The messaging service for Android and iOS surpassed 10 million downloads in just one day

BlackBerry has officially launched its BBM messaging service for Android and iOS devices, and users seem to be particularly pleased with the fact.

The Canadian company announced that the new service had surpassed 10 million downloads in its first 24 hours, a significant achievement even for a popular service like Blackberry Messenger.

“The messenger quickly rose to prominence in the Apple App Store, taking a significant position in the free app rankings within just 24 hours, and reaching number one in more than 75 countries including the US, Canada, the UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East.”

“In addition, we saw overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google Play and the App Store. BBM earned nearly 60,000 five-star reviews on Google Play out of a total of 87,000 reviews,” said Andrew Bocking, head of BBM.
