NASDAQ OMX, the world's largest foreign exchange company, will use FireEye's Threat Prevention Platform to protect its systems from cyberattacks.
Additionally, NASDAQ OMX will leverage a Multi-Vector Virtual Execution (MVX) engine to mitigate cyber attacks on email and files.
"We are proud to have NASDAQ OMX as a customer. Every computer system is vulnerable to attack, and protecting against cyberattacks is a responsibility we take seriously," noted FireEye CEO David DeWalt.
"Attacks on foreign exchange companies are very attractive to cybercriminals and hacktivists. Our experience shows that financial institutions are the third-largest target of cyberattacks globally."
Brad Peterson, chief information officer at NASDAQ OMX, commented: “Cybersecurity is a global problem and attackers are not resting on their laurels. Leveraging FireEye’s Threat Prevention Platform for our own transactions is a clear demonstration of our commitment to maintaining a robust cybersecurity program.”.
FireEye recently raised over $300 million (€222 million) through a share sale.
