Apple plans to unveil a more personalized version of Siri, which will be powered by Google Gemini technology, next month, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

“The company has scheduled an announcement for the new Siri in the second half of February, when it will showcase its features,” he wrote in the latest edition of his weekly newsletter, Power On.
Gurman doesn't yet know whether Apple plans to hold a full event to showcase the Siri upgrades or whether it will hold private briefings with the media.
The more personalized Siri will be part of iOS 26.4, which will be available in beta in February and will be released to the general public in March or early April, according to Gurman. Based on that timeline, the new and improved Siri will be available to all customers with an iPhone 15 Pro or later in a few months.
As Apple previewed, the assistant “should be able to leverage personal data and content on the screen to perform tasks,” according to Gurman.

Apple first announced a more personalized version of Siri at WWDC 2024, but it was ultimately delayed. At the time, Apple showed an iPhone user asking Siri about their mother's flight and dinner plans, based on information retrieved from the Mail and Messages apps, as an example of a new feature.
The revamped Siri reportedly faced problems within Apple, leading the company to switch to Google's Gemini technology. The revamped Siri will technically run on a new Apple Intelligence model that has Gemini technology built into it.
Siri is reportedly getting even better in iOS 27, as Apple plans to turn the assistant into a full-fledged chatbot, allowing users to have ongoing, two-way conversations with the assistant. This would essentially turn Siri into ChatGPT or Gemini, except it would be built right into the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, without the need for an app.

Gurman said the Siri chatbot will be “competitive with Gemini 3,” and “significantly more capable” than the more personalized Siri that comes with iOS 26.4.
