Google is adding gaming support to Android Auto, with popular games like Candy Crush Soda Saga and Angry Birds 2 now playable on compatible vehicles' touchscreens. The company is bringing the new feature to the version beta of Android 14.1, which is already rolling out to testers.

Currently, only four games are supported: Candy Crush, Angry Birds, Farm Heroes Saga, and Beach Buggy Racing. However, in order to play them on your car's screen, you must first have them installed on your phone. It's worth noting that Android Auto's gaming feature is only available when the car is parked, for safety reasons. If someone tries to play while driving, the game will immediately close.
It's also the first time that full-screen apps are available in Android Auto, though it's unclear whether the option will expand to other types of apps beyond games. Support for games and full-screen brings Android Auto closer to the software experience that Google integrates.

Google announced gaming support for Android Auto earlier this month, but the company hasn't said when the option will be available beyond beta. These aren't the first games to be available on Android Auto. Previously, in 2021, Google added a small number of basic HTML5-based games through its GameSnacks.
