AT&T goes offline again in parts of the US

AT&T subscribers have once again found their service down, according to Downdetector . The number of complaints submitted by AT&T users to the site rose from 143 at 12:38 p.m. EDT to 4,030 at 1:08 p.m. EDT. 68% of the complaints were about mobile issues, 17% of the submissions complained about mobile internet issues, and 15% had issues with landline internet service.

AT&T offline

Service was down in major California cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento. The company was also experiencing problems in Dallas, San Jose, Houston, Fresno, San Antonio and Chicago. Because AT&T owns Cricket Wireless and the latter uses AT&T's network, its subscribers were also down, as were Boost Mobile subscribers , some of whom rely on AT&T's network for wireless service.

Downdetector says it received 10 complaints from Cricket Wireless subscribers at 12:07 p.m. EDT, and that number rose to 557 just an hour later. 49% complained that they couldn't use their cell phones, 36% said they had no signal, and 14% said they couldn't access mobile internet.

The number of complaints from Boost Mobile subscribers rose to 75 as of 1 p.m. EDT from 6 a half hour earlier. 50% of Boost subscribers who filed complaints with Downdetector were experiencing issues with their mobile phone, 32% were having trouble using mobile internet, and 18% were unable to connect to any signal from their wireless provider.
