Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani , who is also Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, spoke on Wednesday at a meeting of the National Security Council to review the latest developments in the field of cybersecurity in Iraq.
The council reviewed the main items on its agenda and made several recommendations. One of the directives issued was to conduct detailed inspections on electronic devices before their importation in order to avoid potential hacking threats.

During the meeting, the council discussed unifying government decisions on the management of non-ferrous metal scrap, which will be delivered to the Military Industry Authority and the Ministry of Industry and Minerals. In addition, the council approved temporary one-time allowances for workers in the southern regions of Iraq, competing with the ongoing fight against drugs in that region.
The council underlined the importance of security at border crossings to prevent potential violations. It also stressed the need for strict controls on imported goods, especially electronic devices, to ensure they come from reputable companies.
