Ten all-new Volvo VNR Electric will support food and beverage delivery at select McDonald's restaurants in the Montreal and Toronto areas in the coming weeks.
Martin Brower, a provider of supply chain solutions for global restaurant chains, is delivering these electric vans as McDonald’s.

“McDonald's has shared common values and goals for many decades,” said Julie Dell'Aniello, president of Martin Brower Canada. “Together, our companies share the same commitment to testing alternative-fuel vehicles.”
The development of these 10 trucks by Martin Brower is a continuation of an electric tractor in Montreal that began in 2022.
“It’s exciting to see a strong brand like McDonald’s working with its partners to move away from carbon-intensive freight,” said Matthew Blackman, managing director of Volvo Trucks North America in Canada. “The choice of these global leaders to expand their use of battery electric vehicles is a testament to the performance and reliability of the Volvo VNR Electric.”

Earlier this month, Volvo Trucks North America announced its new Truck-as-a-Service (TaaS) business model called Volvo on Demand, which is designed to help small and medium-sized truck fleets minimize the initial investments typically associated with transitioning to battery electric vehicles and free up credit lines for business growth.
Volvo began delivering electric trucks in 2018 and continues to expand its commercial range, which includes exclusive refuse truck models from the Volvo and Mack Truck brands, as well as the new Mack MD Electric, production began earlier this year.
