CEO Bob Iger said yesterday that Disney+ will begin cracking down on password sharing in June in some countries. The restrictions will expand in September. “ Netflix , is the gold standard in streaming ,” Iger said in the interview. “ They’ve done an amazing job and they’ve gone in a lot of different directions. I really have a lot of really high regard for what they’ve accomplished. If we can just achieve what they’ve accomplished, that would be great .”
The move had been expected for months. In an earnings presentation last year, Iger said an impending crackdown would help Disney grow.
