On Wednesday, Meta, Instagram and Messenger were down again, with nearly two thousand users worldwide reporting they were unable to connect to the popular platforms , according to DownDetector.

Reports that Meta-owned websites were down began to increase around 10 a.m. Eastern time and quickly skyrocketed, DownDetector reported.
The tracking website showed that 70% of the approximately 1,700 people who reported a problem with the operation were unable to log in to applications, while 22% had problems accessing websites. Another 8% had problems logging in.
Meta users also reported the outages on competing platform X and asked if others were experiencing the same problems.
This is the second time in just over two weeks that Meta's widely used social media has gone down.

A technical issue caused widespread login difficulties for a few hours across various Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads , and Messenger, on March 5.

Andy Stone, head of communications at Meta, acknowledged the issues on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said the company “addressed the issue as quickly as possible for everyone affected and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Meta users reported being locked out of their Facebook accounts and feeds on the platform, as well as Threads and Instagram, not refreshing while the platform was down.
A senior official with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency told reporters that the agency “ is not aware of any specific connection to election matters or any specific malicious cyber activity related to the outage. ”
